Climate investment of £1m for Cambridgeshire region

Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority will allocate more than £1m to support ten forward-thinking climate action projects. Each project will be awarded grants ranging from £50,000 to £150,000, targeting innovative solutions to tackle climate change and drive sustainability across the region.

The projects have a diverse array of strategies to mitigate and adapt to the effects of climate change. From introducing alternative fuel provisions and water management solutions to improving community facilities, reducing food waste and boosting biodiversity – these projects aim to make a lasting environmental impact. Collectively, they aim to reduce carbon usage, cut building and vehicle emissions and promote sustainable resource management throughout the region.

The Climate Change Opportunity Fund launched in November 2024, accepting Expression of Interests from Local Authorities, Parish Councils, not-for-profit and voluntary organisations and charities. The initiative is designed to develop and deliver innovative and impactful projects that align with the Region’s Climate Action Plan and build on other  investment schemes.
