Matthew Vickerstaff joins Future Cities Forum Infrastructure 2020
Future Cities Forum is delighted that the Head of Government's Project Finance profession and Deputy CEO at the Infrastructure & Projects Authority, Mattthew Vickerstaff will speak at its 11th February event at Herbert Smith Freehills.
Matthew has been a director of a number of finance organisations and has 25 years experience in the design, build, finance and operation of infrastructure projects all over the world. This included over 20 years at Societe Generale where he was responsible for managing the global structured finance teams including infrastructure, real estate, aircraft, shipping sectors, and export finance, and where he spent time working in Toronto, New York, Paris and London.
Matthew has worked on numerous projects including: Gatwick, Sydney and Budapest airports; Wembley Stadium; the Gautrain rail project in South Africa, the Piccadilly Line extension and other metro projects in Barcelona, Milan and Sao Paulo; solar and wind renewables projects in Spain, France and Germany; and the Post Office counters transformation project.
The Head of Project Finance leads the project finance profession in government and is a spokesperson for the IPA and government on the use of private finance to deliver public projects.
As Deputy Chief Executive Officer Matthew has direct leadership responsibility for the management of the IPA's Finance and international teams, including responsibility for Public Private Partnerships (PPPs) and the UK Guarantees Scheme (UKGS).
