Immense Simulations for future transport
We are delighted that Robin North, CEO and Co-Founder of Immense Simulations will be speaking at our Future Cities Forum on 18th September in Greenwich, London.
Immense are a software company enabling intelligent mobility, that is already helping transport stakeholders, including Highways England and leading local authorities across the UK, make informed decisions associated with the movement of people and goods. Immense also works with clients in the USA and the EU.
It is working with Greenwich Council's company dg:cities on a project called 'Endeavour' to link efficient journeys from homes to transport hubs using autonomous vehicles and dg:cities' Head of Smart Mobility, Kim Smith will be at our September event with Robin to describe the work taking place.
Robin has 17 years' experience working in the Transport industry. He started his career at Imperial College London moving from doctoral research through to a Lectureship in Transport and the Environment and establishing the Intelligent Infrastructure and Transport Systems Laboratory.
In 2014 Robin made the move to Transport Systems Catapult where he became Lead Technologist for Modelling and Visualisation. From the portfolio of £2m of project activities a set of technologies were identified that led to Robin co-founding Immense Simulations in 2016. He has led the company from concept development through to establishing early products in market.
Immense raised $4.6 million in a Series A funding round this May from global technology investor Amadeus Capital Partners and Japan's Global Brain Corporation. Mitsui Fudosan's venture arm, 31 Ventures, also invested. Alex van Someren, Managing Partner at Amadeus will be speaking at our November 'Science Cities' forum in Cambridge.
