Aviva Investors on re-shaping the high street
We are delighted that Aviva Investors will be speaking at our 10th October Future Cities Forum, 'City Place Making' with the Ministry of Housing, Local Government and Communities and the GLA.
Helen Rainsford, Senior Director, Development, will be discussing the re-shaping of the future high street and UK shopping centres, looking at the potential for retail conversions to residential and other uses in city centres.
Helen is a Chartered Surveyor and is an APC Assessor. She is a member of RICS, REVO and the Urban Landscape Institute. She is also a representative on the ULI Retail and Entertainment Council.
She has an extensive background in real estate regeneration, with over 28 years of retail and leisure led development, corporate and consultancy real estate experience gained with a number of leading organisations, both as an occupier and as landlord/developer.
Helen is leading the formulation and implementation of development strategy across both commercial and residential sectors and is delivering retail/leisure and residential led regeneration schemes across a wide geographical area in the UK.
She has worked for Landsec for ten years where she was responsible for the planning, design and management of major retail-led mixed use developments including Landsec lead for the Birmingham Alliance - a joint venture with Hammerson and Henderson to deliver comprehensive and phased retail led redevelopment in Birmingham.
Before joining Aviva, Helen was Director of Acquisitions at Wm Morrison Supermarkets PLC for five years where she led the superstore development team building a pipeline of superstores before heading up the convenience acquisition team nationwide.
