Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government at Future Cities Forum
We are delighted to welcome Rachel Fisher, Deputy Director for Regeneration and Infrastructure in the Cities and Local Growth Unit at the Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government, to speak at our 'Intelligent Cities' forum at White City Place, London on 3rd July.
Rachel is responsible for the built environment elements of the growth and devolution agenda, from housing and planning to transport and digital infrastructure. Prior to this she has held a variety of roles in policy and public affairs at the National Housing Federation,The Design Council, CABE, The RSA and the RICS. She started her career working for a small arts-led regeneration charity and is a keen champion of community engagement in planning and design.
Rachel is a passionate advocate for a more humane approach to urbanism. In 2012 she helped to set up Urbanistas an international network whose mission is to amplify the voices of women to make cities better for everyone. She is an associate member of the RTPI and a Fellow of the RSA.
Future Cities Forum at 'Intelligent Cities' will be looking at how data can inform the growth of UK cities along with new living and working hubs, iM, freight transport management and logistics.
The developers Stanhope PLC and Mitsui Fudosan will also be speaking about how they have jointly created a new live/work hub at White City Place and the former BBC Television Centre into homes and a modern office complex.
