Building better creative hubs
The work of University Wales Trinity Saint David has inspired Future Cities Forum to look more closely at the importance of building creative hubs to regenerate cities.
In June we are inviting experts to Burlington House in London to our research event to discuss this topic.
Andrew Harrison, Professor of Practice at UWTSD spoke eloquently at our March forum explaining that it has been important to encourage a mix of business and academia, when forming the new 'box village' and innovation precinct in Swansea. He was inspired by the vibrancy of the box city on his return to his home town, Christchurch in New Zealand after the earthquake.
The proposed £300 million waterfront project will serve as a catalyst for long term economic development in the region and will provide the University's students with business contacts, enhancing their employability and building their skills, and helping them to start their careers.
