Fulham Football Club Riverside Stand
Fulham FC's proposed Riverside Stand with new river walk (Populous Architects)
Work on the new Riverside Stand at Craven Cottage for Fulham Football Club is due to start this month and will take an estimated two years to complete. Buckingham Group Contracting Ltd will work closely with architects, Populous, on the stand where a new public riverside walk will be created to connect to the Thames.
Fulham Football Club announced back in December that Buckingham would be the lead contractor and is working on transition plans, consulting closely with the Fulham Supporters Trust.
The redevelopment of the stand will increase the overall capacity of Craven Cottage to 29,600 seats. New restaurants, cafes, bars, corporate hospitality and event spaces will be built from ground to fourth floor. The basement will provide back of house facilities, club and lounge areas.
Buckingham has also be selected for a £120 million Swansea regeneration scheme, under a pre-construction services agreement (PCSA) by Swansea Council. It has been asked to help deliver the Swansea Central Phase One transformation for the city. The transformation will bring a 3,500 capacity digital indoor arena, a coastal park, digital plaza, landmark pedestrian bridge, new car parking and new homes with premises for retail, food and drink. Buckingham will be working with architects ACME.
The PCSA will see Buckingham undertake pre-construction services including detailed design, costing and essential preparatory work on the expanding city centre site. The early work will prepare the project and site for the main build phase due to start in late summer this year, with the transformation due to be completed in 2021.
